Paul Bunyan
I never liked how big Paul is usually depicted so I made him a more manageable size, maybe around 20' tall or so. Babe the blue ox, on the other hand, is still huge.

Mishappen spheres
I remembered back to my industrial design classes and tried out my marker techniques with Photoshops Brush tool.
Playing around I discovered it was much easier to get smooth transitions with a lower Flow value.
However, sometimes it could be desirable to have some form of texture with a high Flow value, too low and it becomes almost bland.
A different brush brings about an entirely different texture. This one almost feels like cloth.
This one reminds me of an orange.
What happened here?!?!

Monster thumbnails
Sea monsters, big enough to be floating islands.
Space monsters, as big as a large asteroid.
I don't know what these are, but I don't like them.

Pirate Sign Project
The first project of this class is to design a funny pirate sign based off a real world counterpart. I made a list of 50 ideas, most of them terrible, and drew thumbnails of 5 ideas that were less terrible than the rest.
The group decided I should go with the handicap sign, which needed a few revisions. Originally I wanted to replace the wheelchair with a little boat but no matter what I did it just looked weird, so I replaced it with a ship's wheel instead.
"Where to aim the cannons" |
"No fighting in the Tavern" |
"Dangerous Island Inhabitants" |
"Parrot Surveillance" |
"Handicap Docking" |

New Design Launched
It is Friday, June 03 and I just made my first update to my first blog ever! I was never quite sold on the idea of blogs but lately I've been warming up to them more. I've made several personal webpages back in the day when Geocities still existed but school had a annoying habit of keeping me from updating those projects. In a semi-ironic twist it is school that has now pushed me into creating this sector of space on the interwebs, which I will (hopefully) fill with stuff I make. As for the layout design, I felt like doing something grungy and tech because I've been pretty obsessed with Starcraft 2 lately... so there's that.
